Descrizione:Perfluoro-2,3,5,6-tetramethylcyclohexane (PFTC) is a blood substitute that can be used in emulsions. It has been shown to have an electron microscopic particle size of 1.4 nm and is a dry powder that can be administered intravenously. PFTC has been shown to be effective in the treatment of lung damage caused by smoke inhalation and is resistant to oxidation. The effective dose for PFTC ranges from 2 to 20 mg/kg body weight and the solubility in water is low. In addition, this molecule has optical properties that are useful for optical imaging applications such as photodynamic therapy.
