Descrizione

Rac-lavandulol is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been shown to have antifungal activity in tissue culture and as an animal model. Rac-lavandulol inhibits the growth of fungi by binding to fatty acid, which is an important component of the cell membrane. It also prevents the production of new cell walls, inhibiting the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids. Rac-lavandulol has shown antibacterial efficacy against weevils and chlorogenic acids, which may be due to its ability to inhibit signal pathways in these organisms.
