Descrizione:Sunifiram is a piperazine-based nootropic drug that acts as a cognitive enhancer. It has been shown to act as an allosteric modulator at the synaptic and hippocampal Ca1 and C1-6 alkyl receptors, thereby inhibiting acetylcholinesterase and enhancing cholinergic transmission. Sunifiram also has been shown to have antidepressant effects in animal models of depression. Sunifiram has not been shown to be toxic to long-term use or behavioral therapy, making it a potential candidate for treatment of Alzheimer 's disease. However, there is little evidence for its efficacy in this area.
