Sodium cocoyl isethionate may be used as an emulsifier, cleansing agent, or foaming agent in the cosmetics industry. It also has been shown to be effective against skin cancer cells, neutralizing free radicals to prevent cellular damage. The chemical stability of sodium cocoyl isethionate can be improved by adding ethylene diamine, which also helps to reduce the risk of skin irritation from glutamic acid and urea in cosmetic formulations.
