Descrizione

Sudan I is a red-orange dye with reactive properties. It is used in the textile industry and as a food additive. Sudan I has been shown to inhibit the activity of recombinant cytochrome P450 enzymes, and can be used in the detection of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Sudan I has also been found to have genotoxic effects, which may be due to its ability to cause intramolecular hydrogen transfer and chemiluminescence. Sudan I has also been shown to be toxic for rats and humans, and should not be handled without gloves or other protective clothing.
