Descrizione

Sulbenicillin sodium is an acylation reaction of sulbenicillin, a natural antibiotic produced by the bacterium Serratia marcescens. It has been used in the treatment of opportunistic fungal infections and as an alternative to penicillin for the treatment of nervous system diseases. This drug is used to diagnose microbial infections and infectious diseases, and also shows serological activity. Sulbenicillin sodium is not active against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes.
