Descrizione:Stigmasta-4,22-dien-3-one is a natural product that inhibits the growth of herpes simplex virus. It has been shown to have antiproliferative activity against tumor cells in an experimental model. This compound also has antioxidant properties and may inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. Stigmasta-4,22-dien-3-one is a member of the family of stigmastane diterpenes and can be isolated from seeds of fruit extract by eluting with hexane. The compound is separated from other organic solvents by gel chromatography. Stigmasta-4,22-dien-3-one can be purified by preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
