4-Styrylpyridine is a protonated aromatic compound. It has an aromatic ring with two phenyl groups and one styryl group. The nitrogen atoms are in the form of amide linkages. The compound can exist as either the cis or trans isomer, depending on its geometry. 4-Styrylpyridine has been used as a fluorescence probe to study the photochemical properties of perchlorates and other compounds. It also has x-ray diffraction data and a coordination complex structure.
