Descrizione:2-(Trifluoroacetyl)thiophene is an organic solvent that has been shown to have neuroprotective properties. It has been shown to inhibit neuronal death, and may be useful in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. 2-(Trifluoroacetyl)thiophene also inhibits thrombin activity and has been shown to be an inhibitor of the enzyme aromatic hydrocarbon hydroxylase. This compound is a good candidate for pharmaceutical formulations because it does not cause cell cytotoxicity or mutations when used at low concentrations and it has low toxicity in mammalian cells.
