It also inhibits the formation of nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS). 3,4,5-Trimethylaniline binds to DNA and RNA and inhibits protein synthesis. This compound is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of etoposide. Etoposide is used as a chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of various types of cancer.
