The reaction of 3-TBS with chlorobenzene and chloride yields a phosphine and a tetrahydropyridine, which can be oxidized to form an N-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)pyridinium salt. This salt has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
