alpha,alpha,4-Trimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-methanethiol is a volatile organic compound that is used as a flavouring agent in the food industry. It has been shown to be an effective solvent for various types of materials and can be used in the removal of odours from food containers. Alpha, alpha, 4-trimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-methanethiol has been shown to have organoleptic properties when it is added to foods, such as pulegone and α-pinene. This compound is also used in the detection of chloride ions.
