Dasatinib also inhibits the proliferation of prostate cancer cells, which are dependent on epidermal growth factor and dopamine for their proliferation. Dasatinib may be a potential drug target for cancer therapy because it prevents the release of cyclic nucleotides from the enzyme cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase, which are necessary for cell division.
