Descrizione:Tetrahydro-furan-3,4-dicarboxylic acid (THFDA) is a natural phenolic compound that has been shown to have antioxidant and pro-oxidant activity. THFDA has been shown to inhibit the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids in vitro and in vivo. It also inhibits lipid peroxidation, which is a chemical reaction that involves the oxidation of lipids by free radicals. This leads to the formation of lipid hydroperoxides and other reactive oxygen species. THFDA also has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties that may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
