Thiodiethanol is a reactive chemical that forms thiodiglycol, which is a reactive matrix effect. Thiodiethanol has been used as a model system to study biochemical properties and reaction solution. It also reacts with phosphorus pentoxide to form the p-nitrophenyl phosphate, which can be analyzed using an analytical method. Thiodiethanol has been shown to react with human serum in a wild-type strain, but not in the mutant strain, which may be due to hydrogen bonding interactions.
