• Descrizione: Troxipide is used to treat infections caused by several bacteria. It inhibits the bacterial enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which is involved in the synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid. Trimethoprim has been shown to be effective against HIV infection in vitro and in vivo. Trimethoprim also has been shown to have chemiluminescence properties, which can be used for the detection of infectious diseases. This chemical has also been shown to control drug interactions with other drugs, as well as with the body's own chemicals such as steroids and thyroid hormones. The effect of trimethoprim on pluripotent cells (cells that can give rise to all cells found in an organism) is not yet known.
