Thiomorpholine is an amide with a molecular formula of CHN. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity and to inhibit the activity of DPP-IV enzyme. Thiomorpholine also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines in human serum, which may be due to its ability to bind to nitrogen atoms. Thiomorpholine has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to bind intramolecularly to hydrogen atoms. Thiomorpholine has been shown as a model system that has structural analysis and can potentially be used for drug design against diabetic neuropathy.
