Tributyltin chloride has also been shown to increase copper-induced toxicity in cells by inhibiting ryanodine receptors, which are involved in calcium homeostasis. Tributyltin chloride has a phase transition temperature of -25°C and is not soluble in water; it can be dissolved in methanol, ethanol, acetone, benzene, chloroform, hexane, or ether. Tributyltin chloride also has been shown to have physiological effects on cell nuclei and maternal blood cells.
