Descrizione

O,O,O-Triethyl phosphorothioate is a chemical that belongs to the class of organophosphates. It is an oxidation catalyst used in organic synthesis and as a pesticide. O,O,O-Triethyl phosphorothioate has dry weight of 240.02 g/mol and can be obtained by reacting hexane with chloroacetic acid. This compound has been shown to have pesticidal activity against Lepidoptera species in the laboratory. The mechanism for this activity is not clear but may be due to its ability to inhibit cholinesterase or other enzymes involved in acetylcholine metabolism.
