It can be administered orally and has an odorant binding property. 2,4,5-Trimethylthiazole binds to fatty acids in the skin and prevents them from being converted into prostaglandins. The prostaglandins are important for the development of skin cancer cells. 2,4,5-Trimethylthiazole also inhibits the activity of cgmp-dependent protein kinases which are involved in the regulation of cell proliferation. This inhibition leads to a decrease in cell proliferation and cancer cells. 2,4,5-Trimethylthiazole is also used as a model system for studying cancer in animals.br>br>
