Descrizione:2,3,5-Trimethylhydroquinone is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH(COCH). It is a white solid that is soluble in water and most organic solvents. It can be used as a catalyst in the acylation reaction to produce 2-aminoterephthalic acid from 2,3,5-triethoxyphenol. The photochemical properties of this compound have been studied extensively. It has shown to be acidic and to catalyze the reaction of orthoboric acid and copper chloride. The hydrogen fluoride produced by this reaction is then neutralized by hydrochloric acid. The trimethyl group on the molecule may undergo oxidation reactions with other molecules in the solution to form methyl radicals that react with other molecules to produce products such as methylamines and formaldehyde.
