Descrizione:1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene is a chemical compound that has been shown to have chronic oral toxicity in rats. The results of kinetic studies using rat liver microsomes suggest that the enzyme activities of fatty acid synthase and acetyl-CoA carboxylase are inhibited by 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene. This inhibition may be due to the effects of 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene on the activity of these enzymes' cofactors such as adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH). The leaf structure of plants can be altered by 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene.
