2-(2-Thiophenylmethyl)thiophene is a thiophene derivative that can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. It has been shown to react with various functional groups, including aromatic hydrocarbons and fatty acids. 2-(2-Thiophenylmethyl)thiophene can also be used as a specific ligand for the desulfurization of various compounds, such as elemental sulfur or polysulfides.
