The molecule has been modelled using computational methods including molecular dynamics and density functional theory (DFT). The optimized geometry of the molecule was found to be similar to that of adenosine receptor agonists and amines. This suggests 2,3,6,7-tetrachloroquinoxaline may have potential as a pharmaceutical agent for the treatment of various diseases such as diabetes mellitus.
