Descrizione:Tetrafluorophthalonitrile is an organic compound that has a hydroxyl group, a chlorine atom, and a fluorine atom attached to the same carbon. This compound can be synthesized by reacting n-dimethyl formamide with hydrochloric acid or chlorination of the corresponding nitrile. Tetrafluorophthalonitrile is used as a reagent for the detection of chloride ions in inorganic compounds. It has been shown to be stable in both acidic and alkaline conditions, making it suitable for use in many organic reactions. Tetrafluorophthalonitrile is not actively absorbed by ultraviolet light but does absorb at wavelengths longer than 300 nm. It also has some aliphatic properties due to its hydrocarbon backbone.
