Trimagnesium Dicitrate Nonahydrate is a magnesium citric acid, which is the active ingredient in the medication Citracal®. This drug is used to treat or prevent low levels of magnesium in the blood and maintain proper muscle function. It can also be used to make up for a lack of citric acid in the diet, as well as to relieve occasional constipation due to reduced muscle activity in the intestines. Trimagnesium Dicitrate Nonahydrate has antiviral properties, which means it can inhibit viral replication by preventing viral nucleic acid synthesis. It also interacts with other drugs and may have interactive effects on their metabolism and excretion. The particles are small and dry and can be seen by microscopy.
