D-Thyroxine sodium salt has a number of side effects, including cardiac arrhythmia, hyperthyroidism, insomnia, and gastrointestinal disturbances.D-Thyroxine sodium salt is a chiral compound consisting of two enantiomers: levothyroxine (L) and dextrothyroxine (D). The L form is biologically active while the D form is biologically inactive.
