Descrizione:1-(o-Tolyl)piperazine is a potent antagonist of the acetylcholine and serotonin receptors. It has been shown to inhibit the uptake of neurotransmitters in rat brain synaptosomes. 1-(o-Tolyl)piperazine has also been found to be a potent antimicrobial agent that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to bacterial cell walls and blocking the synthesis of essential cell components. Molecular modeling studies have revealed that 1-(o-tolyl)piperazine binds to the receptor site on the oxytocin receptor, which may provide an explanation for its effects on reproductive function.
