Descrizione:Tetrachlorophthalic acid is a fatty acid that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activity. It has a hydroxyl group and a methyl ethyl group on the same carbon chain, which means it can be converted to formaldehyde and hydrogen chloride in the presence of hydrochloric acid. The calcium salt of tetrachlorophthalic acid is used as an ingredient in the production of polycarboxylic acids, such as maleic anhydride. Tetrachlorophthalic acid also reacts with amines to form reactive compounds that are used for wastewater treatment. X-ray diffraction data from this compound shows that it is an isomeric mixture.
