• Descrizione: 3,3,3-Trifluoro-dl-alanine is an efficient synthetic method to produce the amino acid alanine. This molecule can be used as a substitute for L-alanine in protein synthesis and other applications. It is also used to synthesize amides and stereoselective imines. 3,3,3-Trifluoro-dl-alanine is produced by a one-pot reaction of macroscopic quantities of glutamate with triethylamine solution in acidic conditions. The kinetic study was carried out on an asymmetric synthesis of 3,3,3-trifluoro-dl-alanine using imine and triethylamine solution. The isolated yield from this process was found to be 82%.
