Triisopropylsilylacetylene is an aliphatic hydrocarbon with a reactive site that can be used in the synthesis of other chemical compounds. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the formation of reactive oxygen species and inflammation in mice, which may be due to its ability to reduce the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandin E2.
