2,2,3,3-Tetrafluoropropyl iodide is a coupling agent that is used in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It can be used for the synthesis of novel fluorinated compounds with a variety of functionalities. 2,2,3,3-Tetrafluoropropyl iodide has been shown to have targeted activity against cancer cells and has been shown to inhibit cell growth. 2,2,3,3-Tetrafluoropropyl iodide can be used to analyze the conformers and rotational states of molecules in solution. The frequency of its electromagnetic radiation is between 1.5 and 4 gigahertz (GHz), which makes it useful for analyses in quadrupole ion traps. The solvent kinetic studies were performed using Grubbs' catalyst transfer reactions.
