Descrizione

Vinflunine is an antitumor agent that inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential, resulting in the breakdown of intracellular ATP and cell death. Vinflunine has been shown to be effective against a number of carcinoma cell lines, including those from solid tumours (e.g., breast cancer) and those from blood cells (e.g., leukemia). Vinflunine has also been shown to be effective against angiogenic processes in vitro assays and in vivo trials. Vinflunine is active against natural compounds such as p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which are involved in the production of collagen and other proteins essential for tumor growth. In addition, vinflunine has been shown to cause significant cytotoxicity against tumors in vivo.
