3-Vinylbenzeneboronic acid is an organic compound that is used as a monomer in the synthesis of polymers. It can be prepared by reacting 3-vinylbenzeneboronic acid chloride with a triazine and then hydrolyzing the resulting ester. 3-Vinylbenzeneboronic acid has been found to have luminescent properties, which are due to its ability to act as an electron donor. This compound has also been shown to be able to reduce metal ions such as chromium(III) and copper(II) from wastewater, making it an important component in wastewater treatment strategies.
