• Descrizione: Z-Val-Val-Arg-AMC is a protease inhibitor that inhibits the activity of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. It was first synthesized in an attempt to inhibit the activity of cathepsin B, but it was found to inhibit other proteases and is now used as a research reagent. Z-Val-Val-Arg-AMC has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties similar to those of zwitterionic drugs, which may be due to its high degree of water solubility. This drug also has antiinflammatory and antiproteolytic effects and may have potential use in the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases. Z-Val-Val-Arg-AMC inhibits autophagy by inhibiting lysosomal degradation mediated by autophagy protein LC3B and plays a role in apoptosis.
