Descrizione:1,2,3,4,5-Pentafluoro-6-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene is a useful electrophile for the synthesis of complex organic molecules. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of anisole derivatives and phenolic compounds. This compound can be activated by alkali metals or alkylidynes to form aryl groups. 1,2,3,4,5-Pentafluoro-6-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene has been shown to react with titanium tetrachloride at room temperature to produce a mixture of products that can be separated by gas chromatography. Single crystal x-ray diffraction studies on this compound have revealed that it has disubstituted geometry with average C-C bond lengths of 1.588 Å and 1.590 Å.
