Descrizione:1-Acenaphthenol is a benzimidazole compound that inhibits the enzyme activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) transaminase. It is also able to inhibit the activity of other enzymes by hydrogen bond interactions and steric interactions. 1-Acenaphthenol has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties in rats, which may be due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis as well as changes in cellular lipid metabolism. The microbial metabolism of 1-acenaphthenol is aerobic and results in the formation of an alcohol, which can then be oxidized into a carboxylic acid or hydrolyzed into an amine.
