Descrizione:2,4-Dibromomesitylene is a colorless liquid with a sweet odor. It is soluble in alcohol, ether and chloroform. The molecule has an asymmetric carbon atom and an orientation of the methyl groups that can be either conformationally or vibrational. 2,4-Dibromomesitylene is present in many natural products such as vanilla extract and certain oils. It has been used to synthesize other aromatic compounds. 2,4-Dibromomesitylene's chemical structure can be approximated by using two independent parameters: the distance between atoms and the number of atoms present at each site. These parameters are analyzed through diffraction techniques to find out their relationship with temperature.
