The GC column provides excellent separation of the analyte. 4-Isopropoxy-2-butanone is used as a solvent in polymer analysis, but also has other uses such as in the synthesis of polyurethane and evaluation of polyethers. It is an ether that has been widely used in the compositional analysis of polymers and evaluating the gas chromatography method.
