The simulations of this ligand have produced an enantiomer that has higher affinity than the racemic form. This molecule has been tested in functional assays and these studies have demonstrated its ability to inhibit protein kinase C. 1,3-Bis(methoxymethoxy)benzene also has hydrophobic properties, which are due to its phenoxy group. It can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other organic compounds such as formylation or racemic form.
