Descrizione:Yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) is a high-temperature superconductor. It is a ceramic material with a crystal structure of cubic perovskite that can be synthesized by laser ablation. Superconductivity occurs when the material's temperature falls below about 10 K, making it the most commonly used high-temperature superconductor. YBCO exhibits rapid transport properties and is being studied for use in power transmission lines, transformers, and other applications requiring high voltage and large current. The thermal expansion coefficient of YBCO is close to that of silicon, which makes it useful as an electrical insulator in integrated circuits. YBCO has been shown to be an efficient cross-linking agent when combined with aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES). This reaction mechanism has been studied using microscopy studies.
