Descrizione:ST638 is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets the JAK-STAT pathway. It inhibits the activation of STAT proteins by binding to their tyrosine kinase domain, preventing phosphorylation and consequently blocking the downstream signal. ST638 has been shown to be active against wild-type strains of bacteria, but not against mutants that have lost the gene encoding for ST638's target enzyme. Furthermore, ST638 is also an inhibitor of guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein), which is involved in a number of cellular processes including inflammation and exocytosis. The G protein inhibition may account for the anti-inflammatory activity observed in this drug.
