This compound has been shown to inhibit the activity of glycosylase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the removal of sugar residues from proteins. The antiviral potency of OG-L002 is dependent on the lysine methylation status of its target glycosylase. OG-L002 also inhibits transcriptional regulation in liver cells and tumor cells, which may be due to inhibition of the TNF-α pathway.
