• Descrizione: Lesopitron is a selective 5-HT1A receptor agonist with a high affinity for this receptor. It has been shown to have a maximal response at about 5 microM. Lesopitron has a diameter of 155.5 Å and an aromatic hydrocarbon core with two hydrated electron-donating groups on the side chains. It is also an analog of metformin, which is known to be used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Lesopitron has been shown to bind to both 5-HT2A and 5-HT1A receptors in Swiss Webster mice, as well as other serotonin receptors in rat brain membranes. The effective dose of lesopitron is unknown, but it is thought to be between 10 and 100 mg/kg body weight due to its high affinity for the 5-ht1a receptor. Lesopitron does not inhibit ATP sensitive K+ channels, which makes it safe for use in humans as well
