Granisetron is a serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonist. It is used in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by cytotoxic chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery. Granisetron hydrochloride is a white to off-white powder with a molecular weight of 476.0. The chemical formula for granisetron hydrochloride is C22H24ClN2O2S.
