It has been used as a photolytic probe in chromatographic experiments. 2-(4-Dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepin-11-yl-piperazin-1-yl)-ethanol has been synthesized by the reaction of 4-(benzo[b]thieno[2,3d]thiazol)piperazine with ethanol.
