• Descrizione: The impurity is a natural product and an API impurity. The impurity is synthesized by the rearrangement of (E/Z)-FK-506 26,28-allylic ester. This impurity has been shown to be present in drug products at concentrations up to 0.0025% w/w. It is found in analytical samples at concentrations up to 0.02% w/w, which may be due to its use as a HPLC standard. The impurity has been studied for metabolism in rats and rabbits and is not metabolized by microsomal enzymes or conjugated with glucuronic acid. The compound has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in mice models and has no cardiotoxic effects on Balb/c mice.
