Descrizione:S 2474 is a diluent that is used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on secretory phospholipase A2, which is an enzyme that releases arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids. S 2474 also inhibits other enzymes, such as neuronal cell-specific protein tyrosine kinase and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The effects of S 2474 on these enzymes are thought to be responsible for its antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities. In vitro assays have shown that S 2474 has neuroprotective properties. This may be due to its ability to inhibit apoptosis by inhibiting the activity of disaccharides or dimethyl fumarate.
