(S)-(+)-Hydroxychloroquine diphosphate has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo by inducing autophagy. This drug inhibits the tyrosine kinase receptor on cancer cells and blocks the downstream signaling pathways that lead to tumor cell proliferation.
