Descrizione:Rolapitant hydrochloride is a substance that belongs to the group of neurokinin-1 receptor antagonists. It has an inhibitory effect on the release of substance P, which is a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. Rolapitant hydrochloride is used in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by cancer therapy or during pregnancy. This drug also reduces the incidence of post-operative nausea and vomiting due to surgery. Rolapitant hydrochloride is used to prevent nausea and vomiting in patients who are receiving high-dose chemotherapy for cancer treatment. Rolapitant hydrochloride is used together with other antiemetic drugs such as 5HT3 receptor antagonists, corticosteroids, dopamine receptor agonists, and benzodiazepines. It can be used in combination with other antiemetics when taking into account different properties (e.g., chemotherapeutic agents) as well as side effects (e.g., antidepressants).
